Universal Acceptance (UA) is a crucial issue that has been promoted by the Universal Acceptance Steering Group (UASG) since 2015. The primary aim is to make the internet ecosystem inclusive, particularly in terms of domain names, email addresses, and all internet-enabled applications, regardless of the language script.
To raise awareness about this issue, 28th March is celebrated as UA Day worldwide, and with support from Nepal Internet Exchange (NPIX) and Worldlink Communications, youth IGF Nepal together with CAN Federation Nepal will also celebrate Universal Acceptance (UA) Day in coordination with ICANN. The event will feature discussions with experts on promoting a multilingual internet in Nepal. ICANN org staff will conduct training and awareness sessions on Universal Acceptance and Internationalized Domain Names (IDNs). The program will also showcase opportunities for youth in the internet ecosystem.
The event will take place from 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM on 28th March 2023 at Carnival Restro & Meetings, Thapagaun, New Baneshwor, Kathmandu, followed by dinner and a social networking event.
