We are thrilled to announce the 4th edition of the Youth Internet Governance Forum (yIGF) Nepal, which will take place just ahead of two major regional Internet governance events: the Asia Pacific School on Internet Governance (APSIG), scheduled for 8–10 October 2025, and the Asia Pacific Regional Internet Governance Forum (APrIGF), set for 11–14 October 2025. This exciting lineup makes Kathmandu a vibrant hub for Internet governance during that week. As we prepare for this milestone event, we are inviting enthusiastic, motivated, and committed individuals to join the Organizing Committee of yIGF Nepal 2025. This is a unique opportunity to take a leading role in shaping the event and empowering youth voices in the field of Internet governance.
About Youth IGF Nepal
Youth Internet Governance Forums (yIGFs) are youth initiatives inspired by the principles of the global Internet Governance Forum (IGF) and are officially recognized by the UN IGF Secretariat. Youth IGF Nepal was established to encourage and involve young people from the Nepalese community in emerging internet governance issues.
Youth IGFs are established at both national and regional levels, adhering to the same principles as the UN IGF: open, inclusive, non-commercial, and multi-stakeholder. We also support capacity building for youth from different stakeholder groups on emerging issues such as the digital divide, universal access, AI governance, and freedom of expression online. Like the UN IGF, Youth IGF Nepal follows the fundamental principles of being multi-stakeholder, open, inclusive, bottom-up, and non-commercial.
