Youth IGF Nepal is excited to announce that applications for the 2024 Fellowship Program are now open! This national initiative aims to promote awareness and understanding of Internet governance issues among young people in Nepal. As part of the larger Youth Internet Governance Forum (Youth IGF) movement, Youth IGF Nepal provides a platform for young people to engage in discussions and decision-making related to Internet governance.
The initiative organizes annual events, such as the Youth Internet Governance Forum Nepal (YIGF Nepal), bringing together young people from diverse backgrounds to discuss and exchange ideas on Internet governance issues. Additionally, Youth IGF Nepal conducts research and advocacy activities to raise awareness and influence policy on Internet governance in Nepal.
Fellowship Program Details
The Youth IGF Nepal Fellowship Program ensures that young people from different backgrounds and regions of Nepal have equal opportunities to participate in Youth IGF Nepal events and engage in discussions on Internet governance issues. This is crucial as Internet governance has far-reaching implications for society and the economy, and it is vital that young people’s perspectives and experiences are included in decision-making processes related to the Internet.
Next-generation leaders who wish to equip themselves with the knowledge and skills to participate in the Internet governance process are highly encouraged to apply. Eligibility: Only individuals residing outside of Kathmandu Valley are eligible to apply.

Fellowship Opportunities
This year, we are offering fellowship opportunities for participants outside of Kathmandu Valley, selecting three participants from each of Nepal’s seven provinces. During the fellowship selection process, we will prioritize female participants and representatives from indigenous and marginalized communities. This approach will empower young people and amplify their voices on a national, regional, and global level, ensuring that economic barriers do not prevent attendance.
Through the Annual Youth IGF Nepal event, we aim to promote the multi-stakeholder model of Internet governance in decision-making and advocate for the involvement of young people in policy and decision-making processes. The event also provides opportunities for young people to share best practices and experiences, identify emerging issues, and bring them to the attention of relevant bodies and the general public.
Application Deadline:
31st July 9th August 2024
We look forward to your participation in the Youth IGF Nepal 2024 Fellowship Program!
