The Youth Internet Governance Forum (yIGF) Nepal 2025 is now open for fellowship applications!
This fellowship is especially open to applicants from outside the Kathmandu Valley who require financial or logistical support to attend. Participants from the Kathmandu Valley, or those who can manage their own costs, are encouraged to register through the regular registration form instead.
yIGF Nepal is a capacity-building initiative that brings together young people to discuss, debate, and learn about Internet governance issues in an open, inclusive, and bottom-up manner. It empowers youth to actively participate in shaping the future of the Internet.
This year, yIGF Nepal 2025 will take place on 7 October 2025 in Kathmandu, alongside other major regional events, including APSIG and APRIGF.
Why Apply?
By joining the yIGF Nepal 2025 and Fellowship, fellows will:
- Gain a deeper understanding of Internet governance, digital rights, and technology policy.
- Participate in interactive workshops and learning sessions.
- Network with peers, experts, and stakeholders from across the Nepal Internet governance ecosystem.
- Receive mentorship and guidance to strengthen leadership and advocacy skills.
- Opportunities to get involved in yIGF and special opportunities, including APSIG, APRIGF, and beyond.
Special Opportunities in 2025
In addition to the main yIGF Nepal program, two outstanding fellows will be selected to participate more closely in APSIG and APRIGF activities.
These fellows will be chosen based on:
- Proactiveness – taking initiative and showing curiosity.
- Active involvement – contributing meaningfully to discussions and teamwork.
- Demonstrated leadership – inspiring peers and showing responsibility during yIGF.
Eligibility
We welcome applications from:
- Nepali youth from and living outside the Kathmandu Valley.
- Students, early-career professionals, activists, researchers, and community members with an interest in Internet and digital issues.
Applicants with no prior experience in Internet governance are also encouraged; passion and willingness to learn are key!
Fellowship Coverage
Selected fellows will receive support that may include:
- Full or partial coverage of travel and accommodation
- Registration and participation in yIGF Nepal 2025 activities.
Opportunities to interact with regional Internet governance experts and networks.

- Final fellows will be selected by the yIGF 2025 organizing committee.
